Microsoft 365 migration and cloud migration for small business

Move to Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or the cloud while your team keeps working.

What does a Microsoft 365 migration involve?

A Microsoft 365 migration moves your email, files and users from an old server or another platform into Microsoft 365. We plan it so your people keep working throughout. Fast Response IT also handles Google Workspace migration and wider cloud migration for small and medium businesses.

Where you already pay for Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, we move mail, calendars, contacts, shared mailboxes and files, then set up security and sign-in rules. Staff receive a short guide for their first day.

What can Fast Response IT migrate?
  • Email and collaboration to Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
  • Servers and workloads to Azure, AWS, DigitalOcean or Vultr
  • Data, applications and services, in full or in part
  • Workloads between cloud environments
What are the steps in a cloud migration?

We use a five-step plan.

  1. Plan the strategy. We check which of your applications suit the cloud.
  2. Design the architecture around your resources and requirements.
  3. Deploy and test for function, efficiency and scalability.
  4. Audit the infrastructure for security, scalability and recovery.
  5. Automate routine tasks with proven cloud tools.
Will my staff keep working during the migration?

That is the aim. We schedule cut-overs for quiet periods, keep old and new systems running side by side where needed, and tell staff what to expect. Before a move, you should know which mailboxes, shared files, devices and apps are involved.

We test with a small group first, then move everyone else in planned batches. If something does not look right, we fix it before the next batch.

Should we choose public, private or hybrid cloud?

It depends on your applications, your data and how you work. Our assessment covers this before any move starts. See cloud solutions for the wider approach.

What happens after the migration?

After the move your new environment needs care. Plans include Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace backups with 7-year retention. See backup and disaster recovery. We can also keep supporting you under managed IT support.

Old servers are retired only once you confirm everything has arrived. We also remove unused accounts, so you do not pay for licences nobody needs.

How much does a migration cost?

Projects are scoped up front, and ongoing support is offered as fixed service plans, prepaid hours or ad-hoc support. The price depends on how many users you have and what is covered. We cover Western Sydney, Northern Sydney and the Central Coast. Support is remote, with on-site visits across all three areas.

Try the cloud readiness check or book a conversation.

Cost mostly depends on the number of mailboxes, the volume of data and how tidy it is today. We confirm these in the assessment, and a quote follows, so you know the figure before work begins. We never start a cut-over without your sign-off.

Questions we get asked

How long does a Microsoft 365 migration take?

It depends on the number of users, the amount of mail and file data, and what you are moving from. A small office can often move in days. Larger or more complex moves take longer, and we give you a timeline after assessment. We give you a realistic schedule and update you as it progresses.

Will my staff be able to keep working during the migration?

Yes, that is how we plan it. We schedule cut-overs for quiet periods, keep systems running side by side where needed and tell staff what to expect. Most people notice little beyond a new sign-in. Where possible we run old and new systems side by side during the change.

Can you migrate us to Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace?

Yes. We migrate email, calendars, contacts and files to either platform, and we can move between them. We also set up security, licensing and backups so the new environment is protected from day one. We also set up licensing, security and backups as part of the move.

How much does a cloud migration cost?

Projects are scoped up front. Ongoing support is offered as fixed service plans, prepaid hours or ad-hoc support. The price depends on how many users you have and what is covered, and we explain how it is built. Cut-over costs are agreed before work starts, so there are no surprises on the day.

What do I need to prepare before a migration?

Make a list of users, mailboxes, shared drives and applications, and tell us about anything unusual, such as old software or shared devices. We handle the technical preparation, backups and testing. We also confirm which licences you need, so nothing is bought twice.
